If the Pool swim data is inaccurate when you wear your wearable device for swimming, perform the following operations.
Before you start swimming, enter the correct value in Pool length on your wearable device and enter correct information in Profile (including Gender, Height, Weight, and Date of birth information) in the Huawei Health app, otherwise the calculation of the algorithm may be affected and the measurement may be inaccurate.
The swimming distance result is inaccurate
Try not to pause while swimming.
Your device will identify swimming by your strokes. If you pause a lot while swimming, your swimming posture, number of laps, and number of strokes may be incorrectly identified.
Standard swimming postures are recommended.
If your swimming stroke is not standard, the swimming distance may be inaccurate. Therefore, we recommend that you use a standard swimming stroke.
Do not turn around while swimming a length.
Your device determines that you have completed a length when you turn around. If you turn around while swimming a length, it may mistakenly consider that you have reached the end point. Therefore, we recommend that you do not turn around until you reach the end point.
The swimming posture result is inaccurate.
Standard swimming postures are recommended.
If did not use a standard swimming posture, the swimming posture result may be inaccurate. Butterfly and freestyle arm movements are similar, so your device may incorrectly identify your swimming posture, resulting in inaccurate swimming posture records. Therefore, we recommend that you use the standard swimming posture when swimming.
Do not switch your swimming posture halfway through.
If you switch your swimming posture when swimming, such as by walking in the pool, stretching your arms, or playing in the water, the device may mistakenly identify your swimming posture.
The number of swimming laps is inaccurate.
The recorded number of swimming laps is greater than the actual number.
If you pause in the middle of a lap, multiple laps may be counted.
If you switch your swimming posture during a lap, multiple laps may be counted.
If you turn around in the middle of a lap, multiple laps may be counted.
The recorded number of swimming laps is fewer than the actual number.
If your strokes are irregular or inconsistent, the recorded number of laps may be fewer than the actual number.
If your arms constantly move when you turn around at the end of the lane, your device may fail to recognize that you are turning around.
If you move too slowly, the recorded number of laps may be fewer than the actual number.
We recommend that you adopt a standard swimming posture. Touch the wall at the end of the lane with your hand that is wearing the device when you turn around.
If this issue persists, bring your device and proof of purchase to a nearby Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
After starting a swimming workout on your watch, it will start monitoring your arm movements. Your arm movements, such as when you walk, warm up, or take a shower, may be recognized by your watch as swimming, resulting in inaccurate workout results.
The algorithm for calculating the number of laps in Pool swim will report a lap in advance and the watch will display it in advance. Therefore, the total distance recorded by the watch may be less than the actual distance.
