Problem

When a Huawei wearable device is paired with the Huawei Health app for the first time, the Huawei Health app is unable to find the device name or displays a message indicating that pairing has failed.

Solution

1.Ensure that your wearable device is in pairing mode. If not, restore the device to its factory settings, place it together with your phone, and try again.

2.Ensure that you have selected the correct device model and Bluetooth name. You can view the Bluetooth name of your wearable device on the device.

3.Ensure that you have enabled Bluetooth on your phone.

4.Enable the location permission for the Huawei Health app. (It is recommended that you select Allow.)

a. iOS phones: Take the iOS 15.0 as an example. Go to Settings > HUAWEI Health and enable Location.

b. Android/HarmonyOS phones: Take the Huawei EMUI 11.0 as an example. Go to Settings > Apps > Apps > Health > Permissions and enable Location.

c. Other phones: Take the Samsung S20 Android 11 One UI 3.0 as an example. Go to Settings > Apps > Huawei Health > Permissions > Location, and turn on the switch for location access.

5.Enable Location Services or GPS on your phone.

a. iOS phones: Take the iOS 15.0 as an example. Go to Settings > Privacy and enable Location Services.

b.Android/HarmonyOS phones: Take the Huawei EMUI 11.0 as an example. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location, enable Access my location, touch Advanced settings, and enable Wi‑Fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning.

c. Other phones: Take the Samsung S20 Android 11 One UI 3.0 as an example. Go to Settings > Location and enable the location service.

6.If the issue persists, touch Restore factory settings on your wearable device, reinstall the Huawei Health app, and check whether any wearable devices are still paired with your phone via Bluetooth. If so,unpair the wearable device and the phone, disable and enable Bluetooth again on your phone, reset the network settings, restart your phone, and pair your wearable device and phone again.

7.Use another phone for pairing again to check whether the pairing failure is caused by the phone.

8.If the issue persists, contact the Huawei customer service hotline for more assistance.

  • When you pair a HUAWEI WATCH 3 series with your iOS phone via Bluetooth, a message will be displayed on the watch asking you to open the Huawei Health app to pair your device. In this case, touch Next on the watch and then open the Huawei Health app on your phone to connect to the watch.
  • If you are using a phone running iOS 13 or later, you will be asked to enable Bluetooth when you use the Huawei Health app for the first time. Touch to agree.
  • If your phone prompts you to enable Bluetooth in the control center, check whether Bluetooth has been enabled on your phone. If Bluetooth has been enabled, go to Settings > Privacy > Bluetooth on your phone and turn on the switch for the Huawei Health app.
  • Wearable devices that support heart rate broadcasts and are in heart rate broadcast mode are unable to be paired with theHuawei Healthapp. If you want to pair them, exit heart rate broadcast mode first.
  • The preceding methods are for reference only. The actual methods may vary depending on the phone brand or version. You are advised to contact customer service for your phone model to enable the related permissions.
